ASUS Validates DDR5-7200 JEDEC Memory Support on Intel 800-Series Motherboards
ASUS has officially announced support for DDR5-7200 JEDEC memory speeds across its entire Intel 800-series motherboard lineup when paired with Intel Core Ultra 200S processors. This move elevates the guaranteed baseline memory specification above Intel’s standard DDR5-6400, offering users enhanced performance out of the box.
Comprehensive Support Across Z890, B860, and H810 Chipsets
The validation spans all major 800-series chipsets, including Z890, B860, and H810. While Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPUs natively support DDR5-6400, ASUS has engineered its motherboards to handle DDR5-7200 at JEDEC standard settings. This achievement is made possible through advanced PCB routing, optimized signal integrity, and improved power delivery design, ensuring reliable high-speed memory operation without the need for XMP or EXPO profiles.
JEDEC Standard Operation Ensures Stability and Warranty Coverage
One of the key advantages of ASUS’s implementation is that DDR5-7200 runs at JEDEC standard specifications. This means users can achieve higher memory speeds without manual tuning or enabling overclocking profiles, maintaining full warranty coverage and system stability at stock settings.
Demonstrated Performance with Mainstream Hardware
ASUS showcased this capability using a Core Ultra 7 265K processor and the PRIME Z890-P motherboard, paired with a Kingston 32 GB (2×16 GB) DDR5-7200 kit. The system operated at 1.10 V with CL58-58-58-115 timings and a 1:2 memory controller ratio. Despite the relatively relaxed timings, the configuration passed rigorous RunMemtestPro stress testing, confirming robust stability.
Performance Benefits for Memory-Sensitive Applications
The jump from DDR5-6400 to DDR5-7200 provides an additional 800 MT/s of memory bandwidth. While this increase may not dramatically impact every workload, users running memory-intensive applications can expect measurable improvements in performance and responsiveness.
With this validation, ASUS continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering cutting-edge memory support and reliability for PC enthusiasts and professionals alike.
