SilverStone FLP02: A Retro-Inspired Full-Tower Case for Modern High-End PCs

SilverStone has unveiled the FLP02, a full-tower PC case that masterfully combines 1990s-inspired design with support for today’s most powerful hardware. Building on the retro aesthetic introduced with the FLP01 HTPC case earlier this year, the FLP02 stands out with its classic beige finish and 5.25-inch bay covers styled to resemble vintage floppy disks—a nod to the golden era of personal computing.

Designed for High-Performance Hardware

Despite its nostalgic appearance, the FLP02 is engineered to accommodate the latest high-end components. The spacious interior supports graphics cards up to 386 mm in length, including flagship models like the NVIDIA RTX 5090, when the front drive cage is removed. Enthusiasts interested in advanced cooling solutions will appreciate support for 360 mm radiators on the top panel, as well as additional 120 mm or 140 mm radiator mounts at the rear.

Innovative Features for Enthusiasts

One of the FLP02’s standout features is the front-mounted Turbo button, which instantly ramps all PWM fans to maximum speed for enhanced cooling performance. A built-in display provides real-time feedback on fan PWM duty cycles, while motherboard integration allows for precise temperature and fan control. For added security, SilverStone has included a unique key lock mechanism for the power and reset buttons, helping to prevent unauthorized access or accidental shutdowns.

Flexible Compatibility and Storage Options

The FLP02 offers broad compatibility with a range of motherboard form factors, from Mini-ITX to SSI-CEB. It features seven standard expansion slots plus two additional slots, making it suitable for multi-GPU setups or other expansion needs. Storage flexibility is ensured with three external 5.25-inch bays and multiple internal drive mounts. The case supports CPU coolers up to 182 mm in height and power supplies up to 250 mm in length, providing ample room for high-performance components.

Modern Connectivity and Build Quality

On the front panel, users will find a USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a combo audio jack, ensuring compatibility with modern peripherals. The FLP02 measures 232 x 494 x 472 mm and weighs 9.79 kg, offering a robust and spacious platform for comprehensive PC builds.

SilverStone has not yet announced the official release date or pricing details for the FLP02 full-tower chassis. However, its blend of retro styling and modern functionality is set to appeal to both nostalgic enthusiasts and builders seeking a distinctive, high-performance case.
